The person behind this blog
Quiet Wealth Author
IT sales in Japan. Living with my wife and 8-year-old daughter. Built $350K in assets over 8 years while paying off a mortgage. Just a regular salaryman.
While paying off a mortgage on our condo, I kept buying a US total stock market index fund every month for eight years. Eventually, the account crossed ¥50 million — about $350,000.
I don't earn a huge salary. No side hustles. What I did was genuinely simple: buy a US total stock market index fund every month, and never sell no matter what. That's it.
Why I write this blog
I have $350K in assets and nobody to talk to about it.
I don't discuss money with coworkers or friends. A former boss used to brag about his portfolio constantly — and all I ever thought was "cool, so are you buying dinner tonight?" That experience taught me to keep my mouth shut.
But I still wanted to tell someone. The joy of crossing ¥50M, the frustration when a market crash wiped it out the very next day, the anxiety that never goes away no matter how much you accumulate. This blog is where those stories go.
